Professor Graham Farmer

Graham has been a resident of Summerhill for 30 years and was one of the founding members of the Summerhill Trust Board. He is a qualified architect with a background in public and private practice and is currently Professor of Architecture at Newcastle University where he was also Head of the Architecture Department between 2010 and 2020.  

Graham has extensive experience of working with charitable organisations and community groups and for ten years he been leading a ‘pro bono’ design-build programme which delivers modest building projects for charitable organisations and communities which would not be possible through conventional building development processes.
