About The Event

SIKH KINGDOMS: THE CRAFTS & MARTIAL ARTS. A talk by Jasper Singh

"In 1849, the British annexed the Punjab in North India, this marked the end of a chapter for a religion / way of life that had been forged in the foothills of the Himalayas through practical necessity. What the British found were silks, textiles, carvings and the extraordinary weaponry of the Sikhs who had over 300 years developed their own fighting methods as a means to survive. This talk explores the history of Sikhism, interwoven with explanations of the arts, crafts and Martial Arts of those people. It also discusses the relevance of this today" Bar open from 6PM Talk Starts at 7PM
